Bob, I prefer your installation video and installation procedure to the manufacturer's. It looks like their (wall-side) screws are typical drywall screws. Does the hardware remain stable when you have to bang out some of the underlying drywall? I think the manufacturer suggests bashing the hardware in - seems odd. Anyway, thanks for posting all of your videos.

Most exterior doors come with molding on outside of doors but if you install door from outside and put the brackets on inside of door only and bend the flange prior to installation this would work just fine.Some exterior doors are very heavy and you may want to replace one of the top hinge screws with a matching longer screw so as to reach framing for extra reinforcement I believe that would be good===Bob

thanks bob, I've been working w a seasoned carpenter and it's taken us 2 days to hang 5int. pre hung doors. Is this a standard timeline? Although these doors were 5 1/4 jambs and it was a plaster wall instead of
drywall, making it time consuming.

Without seeing the project its hard to say what the timeline should be. I can say if your lead carpenter is doing a quality job those doors should hang for many years into the future. Sometime pressures to get the job done quickly can lead to poor quality that should never be acceptable==Bob

Cool, I can definitely say he does quality work, it's just you see the doors go on so quickly here it throws you off a bit. lol... You should have a video on how to estimate jobs of this nature; you know craftsman work.

Thank you so much! Using the product I was able to hang my first door very easily, and it came out perfect!! However ordering the product from the website, the package only includes 6 brackets. You will need two packages to hang one door Your way. Only putting them on one side was OK for the bathroom, but I will use 12 per door for the bedrooms. (In case kids want to hang from the door frames or something)

Well, "conventional" or not, I would be glad to tell you how. Take your trim legs and pin them to the jam in the correct place. Insert the assembly in the door opening and pin the legs to framing keeping the reveal even. Shim behind hinges. 2" nails through jam and shims. The rest is icing on the cake.

I think you are forgetting the main point point here. This video is not intended for people who already know how to hang a door, its for first time do it 'yourselfers'. In fact he has even improved the use and instructions upon what the manufacturers recommend. I don't even know what you mean by trim legs, so your instructions are wasted on the first timer. Great vid.

Hi Bob, Absolutely couldn't live without your help now. Thx. I'm doing a wall in my garage using steel studs (they were free). Bought the Quick Plumb on your recommendation. Well, just about to put drywall up and being an absolute novice, not sure if I am supposed to drywall the jamb of the doorway or not. I'm waiting to see you on the Home channel. Keep it up. Rob.

Rob I suggest you check out my accurate door framing video, no Rob you do not hang drywall on the inside of framing when you are installing a door. Good luck on your project! Bob
